#53- Trip to the Bruce

As the days go by some afternoons are hard to fill up time, I've been rather zealous at this or so I thought, we invented a jungle gym out of our ladder, as you saw in the last post made a 'dirt-play-area', and recently tried this pinterest idea my sister sent which seemed ideal for the hot temperature, and zero cost!  Fill up a big container ith water, add plastic toys and some blue and green food colouring, let it freeze for a couple days, then bam! A cool ice sculpture for Isaac to try and chip away at to get his toys.    I only had a hammer and a flat end screw driver, so I hunkered down to show him how to chip away at the ice to get his toys, he was SOOO into this...but of course once I handed the tools over to Isaac, he tossed the screwdriver and just whammed it with a hammer and it immediently broke in half. The creators of this idea said this entertained their toddler for a WHOLE AFTERNOON, Isaac had the thing in smithereens in 15 minutes (which is still a  decent amount of time to keep his attention) Despite me showing him the different techniques of pouring water on it etc, the hammer just seemed the most obvious way to him.
Also went for a visit to see Eric's family, and my opa last weekend.

#52- A wee update

It's been an eventful few weeks!
Rosie, for starter, turned 10 months old and took her FIRST STEPS! (here we go!) Isaac (after a rather grueling night out in Kitchener) has made the 'leap' to a BIG BOY bed! He is loving it, hasn't fallen out, and stays in once he's in! And it's actually really nice that he can get up and get out in the morning/after naps when he is ready, I think it really gives him a sense of confidence and that he is now a 'big boy'. (And a lot less yelling and hollering that he's awake and ready to play and eat!!!)
We got to spend time with some great friends; hit the beach, went out to dinner, caught up in the backyard,
We pressure-washed the deck (see pic below, look at the DIFFERENCE!) and plan to stain it soon.
We were hit with a stomach bug the last few days, Eric brought it home from work, Rosie caught a bit of it, I caught it, and Isaac caught it at the end. Phew! first time we've all been sick at mostly the same time. Not very pleasant, but again, at least it was back-to-back and not all at once! We were able to make it through.
Happy Canada day! Rather uneventful,  but mostly by choice!
We have lots of things happening in July so I doubt I'll be posting here very much.
Err....
Other than those latest headlines; here's some photos!!
that's my girl!
